  13. When you register, print this page on your printer.  Circle or mark what you
  14. are paying for and send it in with your order.  
  15.  
  16. All payments must be in cash, check, or money order, in U.S. currency.  If
  17. outside U.S., include $3 extra for postage.  (NOTE:  All checks must have
  18. routing numbers at the bottom of them, to avoid processing charges.)

  20. When you register, include the Serial Number of the Uedit you are using.  You
  21. can see the serial number by selecting "Show vals" in the menu.

  23. Uedit registration is $45.  When you register, you will receive:
  24.     * a registered user Serial Number.
  25.     * $15 sales commissions for finding new users.
  26.     * the latest Uedit-Share diskette which can be freely distributed.
  27.     * the latest Non-Shareware Uedit which can be fully customized.
  28.     * Extras, configs and utilities to use with Uedit. (See Extras below.)
  29.     * full Uedit documentation on diskette.
  30.     * automatic notice of new upgrades.
  31.     * 30-day satisfaction guarantee or full refund.

  33. WHEN registering (only):
  34.     * To receive the next upgrade automatically, $15.

  36. Registered users:
  37.     * 2 diskettes, latest Shareware and Non-Shareware Uedit & manual, $23.
  38.     * Uedit Quarterly Newsletter for one year, $12.

  40. Anybody, registered or non-registered:

  43. If you purchased a pre-V1.7 Uedit commercially, you can register by sending
  44. your original, purchased disk and $23.

  46. As a registered user, you will earn a $15 commission each time somebody
  47. registers off your serial numbered copy of Uedit.

  49. The quarterly Newsletter discusses new upgrades and features, editing tricks,
  50. new commands, configs created by users, frequently asked questions,
  51. complaints and requested features, plans for future upgrades, bugs, and other
  52. topics.

  54. (BUG NOTE:  Uedit has the handy feature of letting you Ctrl-click-load any
  55. filename in any buffer.  However, early versions of the C Ltd TimeSaver block
  56. out the ctrl-mouseclick input.  In order for Ctrl-click-loading to work, you
  57. must remove your C Ltd TimeSaver completely.  Turning it off won't do.)

  67.                             Distributing Uedit

  69. I really do encourage you to give away copies of your Uedit-Share diskette. 
  70. When you give away copies, you must observe the following restrictions:  
  71.  
  72. ***  You must distribute ALL of Uedit's Shareware files together:
  73.         Cheat-Sheet         Config!         Data!             Help!
  74.         NoName.info            Uedit-Policy    Uedit-ReadMe    UES
  75.         UES.info            Key-Help
  76.  
  77. ***  You must NOT MODIFY any files except for putting your serial number
  78.         into UES.
  79. ***  You must NOT distribute copies of UE or the printed or diskette Manual
  80.         or Uedit's command language documentation.
  81. ***  You MUST use Uedit COPYRIGHT notices on Uedit files.
  82. ***  You MUST use Uedit TRADEMARK notices on "Uedit".

  84. You may include your own files along with Uedit, put files on several
  85. diskettes, distribute files via modem, or compress files, as long as their
  86. contents remain unchanged.

  88. You may print, copy, and distribute the Help!, Cheat-Sheet and other text
  89. files on your Uedit-Share diskette.
  90.  
  91. Amiga clubs may want to encourage their members to register off the club's
  92. registered copy, as a good way to earn money for the club.
  93.  
  94. NOTE:  Do NOT tell people to register by subtracting your commission from the
  95. amount they send in.  This is Important:  If I allow people to subtract off
  96. the commission, users can be cheated out of commissions they are entitled to.
  97. You must give them a signed note to include when they register or contact me
  98. personally, so that I have got proof that you are waiving your commission.

  100. Please EARN commissions!  In distributing Uedit and encouraging new
  101. registrations, you will be supporting good programming for Amiga Shareware.
  102.  
  103. And your feedback is important too.  Most of the improvements in Uedit since
  104. the beginning have been in response to feedback from its users.

  107.                             Revision Numbering
  108.  
  109. When a new revision comes out, the old revision number is incremented by 0.1.
  110. Thus, if the current revision is V2.3, the next upgrade will be V2.4.
  111.  
  112. When bugs are found in a new release, the fixed version will have a letter of
  113. the alphabet appended to the revision number.  Thus, when V2.2 came out and
  114. bugs were fixed, the fixed version became V2.2a.  When more fixes were
  115. required, the new fixed version became V2.2b.  And so on.
  116.  
  117. If you own a version such as V2.3 and bugs are found in it and a version
  118. V2.3a is released, you can obtain V2.3a by sending in your V2.2a diskettes
  119. and $2 or a self addressed, stamped diskette mailer.

  131.                            Uedit and Shareware

  134. Shareware is a generous, trusting concept which treats you like an honest
  135. person, rather than presuming that you are not, as, for instance, copy
  136. protection does.
  137.  
  138. Shareware programs have got to be superior, because you get to try them out
  139. thoroughly at home or in the office before buying them.  Many commercial
  140. programs would not survive this acid test.
  141.  
  142. You are allowed to try out a Shareware program for as long as you require, in
  143. order to decide whether you are going to use it or not.
  144.  
  145. When "trying out" becomes "using", you are obliged to pay for the program. 
  146. Only then does the Shareware author get paid for his work and expenses for
  147. creating the program you are using.
  148.  
  149. Uedit depends entirely upon:
  150.         * Your sense of self responsibility.
  151.         * Your cooperation in safeguarding Uedit's Shareware "hooks" and
  152.           protections, by not distributing its Non-Shareware files.
  153.         * Your assistance in finding new support.
